Mother's Day

Mother's Day is fast upon us. Like every year, I ponder on what to get my mom who helps me immensely with my girls and, now that I am a mom myself and know the sacrifices one must make for their little ones, a being whom I admire and appreciate for all the things she did for my brother and I growing up and even now.

She never requests anything...but I'd like to give her something. I got the idea of buying her tickets to see an evangelist that she and now I love. But that itsn't until the end of the year and tickets are not on sale yet. I know she'd LOVE a vacay, ahem cruise, but that's too mush moola...for right now anyway.

Maybe I can give her the $$ for a plane ticket to see her mom, since I will go on that trip as well, as she will support me on a procedure I'd like to get done. Maybe that's it.

Okay, so what do I get my husband's mom, his sister and sister in law? Decisions, decisions.

As for me, I'd love my yearly spa get-a-way, a vacation (which I'm very much in need of) and a new wardrobe....but first, I need my membership dues for the gym. Oh the gym, I really need to shpe up here and I hope i can resist the tempation and reach my goal as I did about 4 years ago. Need to say positive and make it through.

So yes, decisions need to be made on gifts and even my own mind needs to be made on whether I will stick to my goal this time around.

Signs of the times?

So It's been a while since I last posted. Sincerely, I knew this would be a bit far fetched since I work and balance career and family life but I wanted to give it a go anyways.

So in the time that I've been "idle" from cyberspace, the Earth has experienced a devastating earthquake in Haiti, another earthquake in Chile, a minor one in LA, floods throughout the USA, a volcano eruption that paralyzed air traffic in/from Europe and in the last few days, a bomb scare in Times Square. Time to panic, anyone? Maybe the Mayans had it right...the world will end in 2012...after all, all the signs are there...earthquakes, flood, fire. If you haven't already done so, it's time to get closer to GOD. Don't want to preach or seem like a fanatic, but i am a believer and aren't these things signs of what's to come?

Hello Blog World!

So, I finally took the plunge and created my own blog. I've been toying with the idea of doing so for quite some time now as I wanted a place to share information on kids stuff with other parents but also wanted a place where I can sound off and voice my opinions on current events, comment on past experiences and any other thing that tickles my fancy.

I hope some of you out there find some of the info here informative and amusing...but if you don't, please remember that this blog was created for my own purposes and not to please the masses.

And so the journey begins...
